A distanza di ben 25 anni dalla sua prima apparizione, datata 1992 (anno di pubblicazione su Apollo Records - sublabel di R&S Records- di “Selected Ambient Works 85-92”), il logo di Aphex Twin non ha finalmente più segreti. A condividerne su Instagram i logotipi e gli studi grafici è stato nelle scorse ore lo stesso Paul Nicholson, designer e creatore del comparto grafico originale correlato poi a buona parte della produzione musicale di Richard D. James. Il perché di questa condivisione? La presenza di troppo materiale “non corretto” (quindi non originale) in giro per la rete. Potere recuperare tutto qui.
Singolare che un fatto come questo avvenga in un momento in cui, se la produzione discografica di Aphex Twin sembra aver subito un leggero rallentamento (dopo ben 3 album e la “scorpacciata” di unreleased legata al suo misterioso profilo anonimo su Soundcloud), l’agenda live del Dio dell’IDM pare abbia visto nell’ultimo periodo un’impennata da chiusura dei titoli borsistici per eccesso di rialzo (tra Field Day, Forbidden Fruit Festival a Dublino e Fuji Rock Festival in Giappone).

UPDATE, 8 Marzo 2017: A due settimane dal primo “lancio” Paul Nicholson ha portato il lavoro di “scoperta” via Instagram del processo di creazione del logo e del lettering legato alla musica di Aphex Twin ad un livello successivo: tra sketch mai visti e prove tecniche, attivo sul suo profilo ufficiale anche un tattoo contest!
